Bénédictine de l'Abbaye de Fécamp, Mucha, 1898

Two women in blue present the bottle like an altarpiece.

What

Why

Mucha built the bottle into an arch of Art Nouveau ornament, with a view of Fécamp at the foot.

Notice

The two women hold flowers and a scroll, and their robes are printed in soft blues and greys around the gold bottle.

“A sheet nearly three times as high as it is wide.”
